Wow October has passed us by already and what an exciting month its been!
We have had a lot of our members out racing this past month with some great accomplishments. I hope you enjoy the pictures!
I have to go back again and congratulate John and Lonna for their race Oct. 4th in Corning New York.
John finished his first ever marathon in 3:42:51 which will give him a qualifying time for Boston! Lonna had a great half marathon and finished in 2:22:26. We look forward to seeing the two of them back out and training with us once again.
Next up was Heather, Nadine and myself. We ran the 25K Vulture Bait trail race in London Ontario on Oct. 17th.
This was Heather's first trail race and she finished fifty fourth overall in 2:24:05 ! A great debut! Unfortunately Nadine had a problem with her knee 6 km in and instead of pushing it to injury she wisely dropped out and will work on strengthing it this winter.
I think Nadine and I now have a new trail racing partner!
The next day it was Angela and Tony running their first marathon and Helen running her first half marathon at the Scotia Bank in Toronto.
Angela finished in 5:09:15, Tony in 5:04:28 for the marathon and Helen in 2:09:38 for the half marathon. Your hard work really paid off guys, congratulations!
Kirsten ran her first half marathon in 2:14:11, Sig ran a personal best of 1:55:41 and Mike ran a personal best of 1:48:12 !
Coach Cal continues to impress me every year! He ran the 5km race and finished in sixteenth overall in a time of 22:13 .
What an exiciting day it was to see you guys all have a great race in conditions that were not the best. Congratulations!
Rumour has it that Taylor may be stopping by to give a talk to the group, we will keep you posted as to when this will happen.
We are so proud of how everyone did this past year! You are all a huge inspiration to us!
It is an honour to be a Renegade!
Train hard...enjoy the journey...Scott
