To sum it up, whenever I think of Patricia, I smile. She will always be a Renegade!
Calling all Renegades! Sunday February 7th we will be looking after a water stop at Blackwell and the Trail for the Hypothermic Half. We will be there from 9 am until 12, cheering, handing out water, gatorade and secret treats prepared by Heather. It will be alot of fun and a great way to promote our group.
Speaking of cheering at the Hypo, our water station will really exploded in celebration when our very own Jaunita comes through. Even though she says its just a tune up race, Juanita has been training hard and putting in the work, she is always a huge inspiration for me and we wish her all the best on Sunday!
Other race news from the weekend had Kirsten and Jeff running the Poho in Port Huron. From our reports it sounded like a great day and both Kirsten and Jeff put up some great times in the 5k! Way to go Renegades!
Another day to mark on your calender this month is February 13th. Honourary Renegade Jacob Riley will be competing in the US Olympic Trials. He qualified in Chicago in 2014 with a time of 2:13:16. He has the sixteenth quickest qualifying time and we are sure he will surprise alot of people that day. The race is supposedly going to be televised live on NBC at 1pm ET.
The top three finishers of this race get to go to the Olympics in Rio this summer. Jake has been training really hard in Florida with 130 mile weeks preparing for the big day. He says he's tired and sore with lots of minor pains but nothing major. I know I will be glued to the TV that day cheering him on!
We are so fortunate to be able to spend time with family and friends, pursuing our passions. Charish the moments and memories, life is short. Please follow the link to the story of Dave Eitrheim. I was very fortunate to have spent time with Dave at the Rob Krar camp. He was so positive, strong, kind and humble, a great inspiration for all he came in contact with. I will never forget him!
